Installation FAQs

What type of hardwood flooring is best for my home?

It depends on your style, budget, and lifestyle. Solid hardwood offers timeless beauty and durability, while engineered hardwood is ideal for moisture-prone areas and concrete slabs. We’ll help you choose the best option for your needs.

How long does hardwood floor installation take?

Most installations take 2–5 days depending on the size of the area, the type of flooring, and any prep work needed.

Can hardwood floors be installed over concrete?

Yes! Engineered hardwood is a great choice for concrete subfloors. A moisture barrier and proper subfloor prep are essential.

What’s the best time of year to install hardwood floors?

Spring and fall are ideal because humidity levels are more stable, but we install year-round using proper climate controls.

Do I need to leave my home during installation?

Not always. In most cases, you can stay in your home, but we may recommend vacating specific rooms during work hours.

Refinishing FAQs

How do I know if my hardwood floors need refinishing?

Signs include visible scratches, dullness, discoloration, or bare wood showing through.

How often should hardwood floors be refinished?

On average, every 7–10 years. High-traffic areas may need refinishing sooner. Well-maintained floors may never need to be refinished again.

Is refinishing messy or dusty?

We use modern dustless sanding equipment to minimize mess. While some dust is inevitable, we keep it under control with proper prep and cleanup.

Can all hardwood floors be refinished?

Most solid hardwood floors can be refinished multiple times. Engineered hardwood can be refinished once or twice, depending on the wear layer thickness.

How long before I can walk on my floors after refinishing?

Light foot traffic is usually allowed 24 hours after the final coat. Full curing takes about 3 days, so avoid rugs and heavy furniture until then.
